The Auckland Heritage Fesitval 2017 is fast approaching. The festival runs from the 30th September until the 15th October - with the theme "From waterways to motorways - the heritage of transport and travel in Tāmaki Makaurau". Event submissions closed mid-May with 170 applications received to date - so it is shaping up to be another entertaining and informative festival.
Congratulations to the successful applicants to the 2017 Regional Historic Heritage Grants Programme. We received an impressive 42 applications of which seven were funded, including St. Patrick’s Presbytery roofing project, stability of Alison McKenzie House in Helensville, restoration of graves at Te Muri Cemetery and Waikumete Cemetery, maintenance and repair works for Stonemason’s House in Parnell and Onehunga Community House, and the Pitt Street Building’s guttering project.
