  • Survey results: Biodiversity in Auckland
    February 2018

    Background

Protecting and improving Auckland’s biodiversity is one of council’s key responsibilities. While the number of our biodiversity related initiatives increases, biodiversity continues to decline. Greater involvement is needed by everyone. We asked the panel what they do to help biodiversity, their motivations for doing so, and what prevents them from doing more.

How we will use the results

Results show that more communication and education is needed by council. We will use these findings to improve how we engage with communities and groups, share our knowledge and resources, and design our programmes.

    Methodology

    • 14,318 panellists received an invitation
    • 2184 surveys were completed
    • Survey was open for 7 days (14 - 21 February 2018)

This survey was run on Auckland Council's People's Panel, a quick and easy way for Aucklanders to help shape Auckland by taking part in short surveys.
