    Background

    This survey was designed to provide us with information on what kind of holidays Aucklanders enjoy; views on Auckland Council's accommodation and how Aucklanders like to plan their holidays.

    How we will use the results

    Results are currenly informing our spring campaign. This feedback will help us connect with more people so they can enjoy our wide range of holiday places. 

    Methodology

    • 14,318 panellists received an invitation
    • 2,326 surveys were completed
    • Survey was open for 8 days (13 - 21 February 2018)

    This survey was run on Auckland Council's People's Panel, a quick and easy way for Aucklanders to help shape Auckland by taking part in short surveys.

  • Auckland Council has holiday places throughout Auckland including:

    • 44 campgrounds e.g. Wenderholm Regional Park, Tapapakanga Regional Park, Omana Regional Park
    • 3 holiday parks e.g. Orewa Beach Top 10*, Martins Bay, and Whangateau
    • 22 baches e.g. Baileys Cottage in Mahurangi Regional Park, Craw Homestead in Anawhata Regional Park, Moonlight Bach in Scandrett Regional Park
    • Council's glamping sites e.g. Orewa Beach Top 10, Wenderholm Regional Park, Martins Bay Holiday Park
    • Waiheke Backpackers Hostel

    These are booked through council's call centre except for Waiheke Backpackers Hostel, and our holiday parks, which are booked directly.

    *Orewa Beach Top 10 is owned by Auckland Council and is part of the Top 10 network
