Welcome back everyone! What a busy year we had in the city centre and so much more to come. Check out this short video of the works that started last year and will continue this year. We certainly have come a long way. And oh so exciting as to what we will see in 2018 with more projects starting and others finishing it is going to be a transformational year!

You’ll be seeing more of this super-efficient machine on the waterfront or city centre this summer so keep your eyes peeled! The bike will be at various locations sharing information on the projects that are happening on the waterfront area.

City centre waterfront is sharing information about the pending waterfront projects that will launch later in 2018 and completed in time for the America’s World Cup. There are seven proposed projects that will transform the waterfront into a more accessible, vibrant and exciting waterfront gateway to our city.

Vector Lights on Auckland Harbour Bridge |

Solar Light Show - Saturday 27 January from 9pm
This world-first experience is not to be missed! The launch of Vector Lights will transform Auckland Harbour Bridge and light up the Waitematā with ground-breaking renewable energy technology. Find a great view of the harbour to watch, then tune in online at vector.co.nz/lights or on radio to hear the music synched with the lights. It will stream live on www.facebook.com/vectornz, and follow reactions on the night via #vectorlights.

City centres are important to the economic prosperity of cities and nations. The large number of people located in close proximity to each other in city centres allows ideas to be quickly generated. Much of this transferring of ideas and knowledge takes place face-to-face. There is a strong relationship between connectivity and productivity. High concentrations of people, firms, and activities enable ideas and knowledge to be generated and easily shared.

Māori artists and designers exhibit in a new Tāmaki Herenga Waka Festival feature on Auckland Anniversary Weekend
Forty-one Māori artists and designers will exhibit their work in a new Tāmaki Herenga Waka Festival feature on Auckland Anniversary Weekend, at the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre and Viaduct Basin. Auckland Art Gallery is presenting works by Charlotte Graham and Emily Karaka, a digital exhibition, and Charlotte Graham doing talks and free printmaking workshops.
